Man, I was a KFC slave for yeaaaars (amongst a plethora of other equally demeaning jobs to get me through uni).
The insomnia was something that stayed with me for a good 10 years (started a good while before the setting of this comic). The germophobia, thankfully, only lasted for about a year. I had this strange obsession with body odours and was convinced that I smelled ALL THE TIME (here’s a hint: I didn’t). I started wearing men’s deodorant because I thought it was ‘more powerful’ than women’s, and couldn’t wear clothes for more than a few hours before having to change for something clean. On top of constant handwashing and showering three times a day (during the drought! SO WRONG), it was pretty time-consuming. Thankfully it passed… the many ways we deal with stress is mind-blowing sometimes.
